Faith in humanity was restored last night as an entire stadium paid tribute to the victims in the most powerful manner. The city of Orlando made the brave choice of gracefully recovering from the tragedy and showed the world that they are not afraid. Not afraid to love, not afraid of hollow; cowardly acts of violence. Indeed, they set an example for the world and motivated the members of the queer community with the power of unity and love. Watch the full video here.
It was a stunning sight indeed as the entire stadium waved flags in support of gay pride and for the first time ever a sport was stopped in the duration of the game to observe silence to mourn the victims as very row in the audience held up one of the colours of the queer pride flag. The emergency workers, paramedics, police force who worked with the victims that night, were duly commemorated as they marched on to the field to waving flags and roaring applause.
The front row seats were not occupied, instead to show solidarity for the victims, 49 balloons were placed as a mark of respect and love.
Indeed there was no dearth of support from the audience and gave the world a glimmer of hope for the victory of love over hate.
